Four Seasons Hotel Toronto Introduces D|azur, The City’s Newest Patio Destination

This article is more than 2 years old.

We may not yet be able to travel freely to France at the moment, but Torontonians can certainly get a taste of “La Belle Vie” at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. The acclaimed property invites guests to experience the South of France with the opening of d|azur, an all-new patio inspired by the romance and elegance of the French Riviera. Opening today, June 14, 2021, guests will experience fresh fare in a chic atmosphere the evokes the glamour, warmth and "je ne sais quoi" of the Côte d'Azur.

With a tempting menu designed by d|bar Sous Chef Horatio Macias Leon, the d|azur menu will feature light and delicious creations focusing on seafood and seasonality with distinct Mediterranean accents. Fresh oysters, caviar, ceviche, cured tuna carpaccio, burrata, grilled octopus and fresh vegetables will be served alongside colourful compositions and expertly curated cocktails. The dessert menu, overseen by Pastry Sous Chef Kevin Levionnois, emphasizes refreshing summer flavors, such as lemon, orange blossom, apricot and thyme. The menu will also showcase the divine Tarte Tropezienne, a specialty pastry originally created in St. Tropez.

“Our new outdoor dining destination speaks to our passion for creating thoughtful and authentic guest experiences allowing everyone who joins us a much-needed respite,” said Maxime Regad, Director of Food and Beverage.

The hotel has collaborated with local Toronto artist Jason Zante, to create a custom art installation, named The Riviera, which pays homage to the area’s signature azure waters and striking architecture. Known for his use of vibrant color pairings, bold contrast, and ethereal landscapes, Zante’s work has been featured in Architectural Digest. Located on the Hotel’s South West facade, the breathtaking work of art will sit high above Bay St. and Yorkville Avenue.

The Riviera symbolizes the many elements of the Mediterranean lifestyle and landscape through abstracted forms and contrasting colors while fusing subtle textural elements that already live within the design of the hotel”, explains Zante. “It was my goal to offer a feeling of escapism to anyone who views the mural. A moment where their minds can drift to vacation mode where they feel most at peace.”

Alongside the opening of d|azur, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto introduces the aptly named package “A d|azur Escape”. Inspired by the relaxing and unique experiences of this world-famous coastline, thoughtful culinary moments are peppered throughout the luxurious package. After a day spent savoring the taste of the Mediterranean by way of amenities and gourmand meals, guests can enjoy a blissful night’s rest in the hotel’s signature Four Seasons accommodations. Younger guests will also be treated to a special amenity inspired by beloved French artist Claude Monet. An edible artist palette with colourful icing mimicking paint will decorate a tempting hand-crafted chocolate bonbon. The little artists will also be given their very own beret to wear as a further tribute to Monet.
