INTRODUCING #PATIOSCAPESTO

Led by Destination Toronto, #PatioscapesTO is a 6-week social channel driven campaign and contest that capitalizes on the local excitement of patios re-opening.

Launching Tuesday June 29, the campaign encourages Torontonians to explore more and share their experiences right across our many neighbourhoods using #PatioscapesTO. This also includes promoting patios that have available space for patrons by socializing a specific hashtag #RoomOnThePatioTO.

From rooftops to new sidewalk patios, to patios in parking lots and in laneways, this campaign celebrates the gradual reopening of our beloved city while encouraging, and even rewarding, reconnection with friends and family.

Over the course of the campaign PatioScapesTO is highlighting 6 different patio themes, collaborating with our local ambassadors, influencers and local media publishers including BlogTO, Breakfast Television, Narcity, In Magazine and Toronto Life.

AS A RESTAURATEUR, HOW CAN I TAKE PART? 

  1. Make sure your restaurant is listed with Destination Toronto and the patio dining feature has been activated. To update or activate your culinary listing, log in to your Partner Portal or email partnerships@destinationtoronto.com.
  2. If you have availability on your patio, tag your social posts with #RoomOnThePatioTO - especially on your Twitter account. Local residents will be encouraged by Destination Toronto, and others, to search for this hashtag to find patios where there is available space. 
  3. Also, let your patrons know they can easily enter the #PatioScapesTO contest by posting their experience on your patio on their favorite social channel using #PatioscapesTO.
  4. And if you’re a restaurant without a patio, continue to encourage takeout and delivery options. Destination Toronto will carry on showcasing these dining options on ToGoToronto.  

HOW DO TORONTONIANS ENTER THE CONTEST & WHAT CAN THEY WIN?

Participating in the contest is very easy. Diners have two options to enter:

  1. Upload a photo of their patio experience onto either Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, tag @DestinationToronto and include hashtag #PatioscapesTO. The more times someone uploads an image, the greater their chances of winning.
  2. Visit the PatioscapesTO landing page on DestinationToronto.com to upload photos.

WEEKLY PRIZES
During the first 5 weeks of the campaign, 5 winners will be randomly selected to receive a Toronto Restaurant Gift Card valued at $100. 

GRAND PRIZE
Public voting for the “People’s Choice” grand-prize winner takes place August 9-15 on the contest landing page and on Destination Toronto’s Instagram stories. The grand prize is Patios for a Year (52 gift cards, each valued at $100 CDN) from restaurants across the community.
