INDUSTRY INSIGHTS & UPDATES FOR FEBRUARY 3, 2022

Terminal 2

LOVE IS IN THE AIR & THE BACHELOR IS COMING TO TOWN!

It’s that time of the year again…and no we're not talking about another winter storm passing through Toronto. We’re talking about Valentine’s Day! From spoiling your partner with a romantic staycation or treating them to a meal from your favourite restaurant, Valentine's Day in Toronto will have you and your sweetheart smitten.

And who says Valentine's Day has to be just for couples? Whether you're with your friends, family or flying solo, the 6ix has so much to admire this time of year.  And this year, we’re not alone in sharing the love for our dynamic city.  For the first time in many years, ABC’s  “The Bachelor” goes international and their first visit outside of the US is to Toronto. Destination Toronto, in partnership with Destination Canada, welcomes Clayton Echard, this season’s Bachelor as he seeks a second chance at finding that great love in the 6ix.

As we look towards more positive market conditions in the future, and the return of US travellers to Toronto, there is no better time to seed Toronto in the minds and hearts of the 10 million+ fans of Bachelor Nation. The next two episodes of “The Bachelor,” feature Toronto and are scheduled to air this coming Monday February 7 & again on February 14, both nights at 8PM EST, on City TV. And if either you or your company is active on social channels, follow the online conversation about the show by searching for the universal hashtags of #TheBachelor and #BachelorNation on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTok. Don’t hesitate to participate in creative ways, including answering questions that viewers may have about Toronto - you never know as it may generate a future customer at your door.
