TAKE THE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM 2030 PLEDGE
Are you interested and committed to being more sustainable? Are you curious, but don't know where to start? Our partners at TIAO would like to see Ontario become the most committed province to sustainable tourism.
The Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge is a commitment to improve the sustainability performance of your tourism business or destination between now and 2030. It is built upon the GreenStep Sustainable Tourism criteria, which has achieved “Recognized” status from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.
As a signatory to the pledge, you will receive a Sustainability Score, A listing on the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge website, and access to tools and resources as they become available.

SMART SERVE RECERTIFICATION: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
On July 1, 2022 the AGCO approved Smart Serve Recertification every 5 years.
TIAO is hosting a free webinar to outline some of the new regulations, highlight the new Liquor License and control Act (LLCA), and how you will be impacted by these changes. The session will also include a Q & A component where you will have an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

CITY OF TORONTO SELECTED TO HOST THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC MARKETS CONFERENCE IN 2023
Renowned international placemaking organization Project for Public Spaces has named the City of Toronto as the host city for the 11th International Public Markets Conference.
The International Public Markets Conference will take place next summer from June 8 to 10, 2023 at various locations throughout Toronto. The conference will bring together public market leaders, advocates, and representatives from across the globe, including a broad mix of government leaders, market managers, downtown planners, grassroots organizers, local food advocates, transportation experts, health care professionals, and educators.

TAPA ANNOUNCES CALENDAR OF OFFICIAL DORA AWARDS EVENTS FOR THE 2021-2022 SEASON
TAPA has announced the calendar of official Dora Awards events for this season. The 42nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards, taking place on September 19, 2022, will be held at the legendary Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre (EWGTC).
TAPA also announced that The Pat and Tony Adams Freedom Fund for the Arts would provide a $1000 cash prize to each individually-named Dora Award recipient (excluding Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble recipients).

EGATES AND ADVANCE CBSA DECLARATION TO DELIVER A SMOOTHER AND FASTER BORDER EXPERIENCE
Using the Advance CBSA Declaration feature within ArriveCAN lets passengers make a customs and immigration declaration up to 72 hours in advance of flying into Canada, providing a faster border experience.
Travellers 16+ can use eGates where available to confirm their identity & submit their customs/immigration declaration.

REGULATIONS AMENDING AIR PASSENGER PROTECTION
Updated in June and starting September 8, 2022, new refund regulations come into effect under Regulations Amending the Air Passenger Protection Regulations.
The new requirements will require airlines to provide passengers with either a refund or rebooking, at the passenger's choice, when there is a flight cancellation, or a lengthy delay, due to a situation outside the airline’s control that prevents it from ensuring that passengers complete their itinerary within a reasonable time.

NUIT BLANCHE TORONTO RETURNS ON OCTOBER 1 AND EXPANDS TO INCLUDE ETOBICOKE, DOWNTOWN, NORTH YORK AND SCARBOROUGH
Nuit Blanche, Toronto’s free all-night celebration of contemporary art, returns this fall for its 16th edition beginning at sunset on October 1.
Toronto’s biggest celebration of contemporary art will include works by more than 150 local, national and international artists and, for the first time, present exhibition areas across Toronto.
This year’s Nuit Blanche will mark the finale of ArtworxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art.
