September 30 marks the 2nd National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 

It’s a day for listening and for learning, and is a direct result of Call to Action 80 of the 2015 Truth and Reconciliation Commission 94 calls to action.

GOVERNMENT OF CANADA TO REMOVE COVID-19 BORDER AND TRAVEL MEASURES 

The Government of Canada announced the removal of all COVID-19 entry restrictions, as well as testing, quarantine, and isolation requirements for anyone entering Canada, effective October 1, 2022.

TIAO SURVEY ON THE STATE OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY 

TIAO is seeking the assistance of tourism businesses to complete their latest survey on the state of the tourism industry.  

The survey questions focus on tourism revenues, debt, staffing challenges, commercial insurance issues, the Ontario Staycation Tax Credit, and industry outlook, and helps support TIAO’s advocacy efforts.

CITY OF TORONTO UNVEILS NEW TORONTO SIGN WRAP 

The City of Toronto unveiled Rekindle, a new wrap on the Toronto Sign. 

The new wrap was created in recognition of UNESCO’s International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022 to 2032), which focuses on the rights of Indigenous language speakers worldwide.
