Dear Tourism Community,
It is with regret that we announce the departure of Destination Toronto’s President & CEO Scott Beck, effective October 28, 2023.
Scott has accepted the position of President & CEO with San Francisco Travel.
We will miss Scott's wonderful enthusiasm for our city and community. Since arriving here almost four years ago, he has been a passionate and dedicated advocate for Toronto and growing the city’s visitor economy.
The pandemic hit shortly after his arrival and Scott devoted himself to supporting the tourism and hospitality community in navigating the many headwinds we faced, and, once the worst abated, working together towards recovery. We can see the fruits of Scott’s leadership through the immense progress the organization has made in cementing its strong relationship with the City and key partners, rebuilding our core business pipeline and galvanizing a new destination narrative and delivering that story narrative through authentic and compelling marketing.
In the interim, Destination Toronto’s Board of Directors will work closely with Scott and our leadership team to ensure a smooth transition and to identify a new CEO for the organization.
Please join us in thanking Scott for being an exceptional steward for Toronto and wishing him the best in his new role. San Francisco is lucky to have him.
