Happy September! Here are the latest DT updates.

Sibos in Toronto

Toronto is hosting Sibos for the third time from September 18-22, 2023 with 7000 attendees expected and the theme: Collaborative finance in a fragmented world. Sibos prioritizes Sustainability and are working with the MTCC to reduce the imprint of their event and #LeadTheChange. Sibos has chosen SickKids as the 2023 charity of choice.

MICHELIN Guide

The second annual Toronto MICHELIN Guide selection will be announced on Sept. 27 at HISTORY, following an announcement of the Bib Gourmands on Sept 19. DT and MICHELIN will support the announcement with video, social content and articles highlighting some of the chefs and who have received MICHELIN Guide designations. Media will be in attendance at the event and the MR Team is leading a Michelin themed FAM tour.

Pulse Survey Results

Each quarter, DT staff are asked to complete the Pulse Employee Survey. The Q1 and Q2 results are posted on the Intranet. Q2 saw an 85% participation rate.

CHANGES TO EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Effective August 1, 2023 the Group Benefits offerings through Sun Life Financial had new changes come into effect. Below is a link to the recording of the online information session that took place on August 24. 

  1. Per prescription deductible is increasing to $10 from $5
  2. Paramedical coverage: an annual combined limit of $1,500 per person (psychologist, physio, chiro, naturopath, osteopath, podiatrist & $700 maximum for RMT w/ Dr’s note)
  3. Eye Exam every 2 years, in line with most plans
  4. Dental Coverage - Basic Dental annual maximum of $1,500 per year per person & annual scaling units limit to 8 (equal to 2 hours)

Jordan Thompson, (he/Him) Senior Accountant- Jordan is excited to be joining our team and representing the city. He recently moved from Peel region after 20 years to Barrie with his wife and 3 young boys. He enjoys watching and discussing sports, particularly basketball and football.
