Temporary Municipal Accommodation Tax increase
The temporary Municipal Accommodation Tax is now in effect from June 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026. The Greater Toronto Hotel Association is suggesting that hotels separate out the 2.5% rate on guest folios as "Temporary MAT Increase – 2026 Major Sports Tournament".
