The past three years underscored the value of in-person events. We’re thrilled that Collision is confirmed to return to Toronto in 2024 and enjoyed seeing many of you for Destination Toronto’s AGM on June 8, if you missed it, catch the highlights below. COLLISION CONFERENCE CONFIRMED TO RETURN IN 2024

This week, the City of Toronto confirmed the Collision Technology Conference is coming back to Toronto in 2024. 

Next week, Toronto will welcome more than 40,000 innovators, tech professionals and visitors from around the world for the 2023 edition of Collision. The 2022 Collision conference in Toronto attracted 35,000 attendees and generated $43 million in direct spending and $68 million in economic impact.

A RECAP OF THE 2023 DESTINATION TORONTO AGM

Destination Toronto’s Annual General Meeting spotlighted staff sharing 2022 activities and achievements and finished with a live performance of Cultures Remix from Ontario's 1st Poet Laureate and Artivist Randell Adjei and Kimberly Anne Beckles, Founder of Sapphenix Movement.

REGISTER FOR 67TH ANNUAL GTHA AND DESTINATION TORONTO GOLF TOURNAMENT

The Greater Toronto Hotel Association and Destination Toronto are hosting the 67th annual golf tournament on August 15. 

The day includes breakfast, a reception,18 holes of golf and a golf cart.

NEW RESEARCH SHOWS 45% OF CANADIAN TOURISM BUSINESSES AT RISK OF CLOSURE DUE TO DEBT

With the support of TIAO and other members of the Provincial and Territorial Tourism Industry Association (PTTIA), the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) has released new survey research showing that 45% of Canada's tourism businesses may close within the next three years without government intervention into their mounting debt load.

TOURISM SKILLSNET ONTARIO PRESENTS TRAINING SOLUTIONS FOR RESILIENCY AND RETENTION

OTEC's new project, TSNO: Training Solutions for Resiliency & Retention, aims to contribute to post-pandemic economic recovery, including addressing skills and workforce challenges in the tourism sector. 

The virtual and in-person two-day training is free of charge for the Ontario tourism and hospitality sector.
