TORONTO WELCOMED NEARLY 9M VISITORS IN 2023, STILL BELOW 2019

Last week, we released our year-end report, Toronto’s Visitor Economy: 2023 Market Performance Highlights. Visitor spending reached a record $7 billion in 2023 but the number of visitors in Toronto remains below pre-pandemic levels. Destination Toronto was interviewed by Breakfast Television, CP24, The Toronto Star, Global News and others to discuss the report and highlight the importance of the visitor economy.

Destination Toronto is making it easier for visitors looking for sustainable, 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive and barrier-free environments by adding Certification Badges to eligible business listings through a selection of industry standard certifications.

The City of Toronto, in collaboration with Toronto Arts Council and Foundation, is developing a new Action Plan for Toronto’s Culture Sector to guide cultural services, policy and programming. Take the survey or join a virtual town hall on February 15 or 22.
